As far back as the times of the Austrian Emperor people chose this charming landscape with its gentle hills, its rocks and lakes as their summer resort. The scenery and the picturesque village at the lake, the former monastery and the church where the wedding scene of ?The Sound of Music? was filmed have been attracting international tourists ever since. The award-winning ?Dragon Heart? Summer Festival 2001 by Siemens Management Consulting also took place in the village of Mondsee.
Especially from March until December the village offers excellent conference and leisure opportunities. Its proximity to Salzburg and the other lakes of the Salzkammergut area are definitely further reasons for choosing this destination.
